Corrugated board package
Single, double and triple wall corrugated board is produced in sheets of a standard size 1000 mm*2000 mm and according to customized orders. The thickness and combination of flutes depends on the characteristics of the product to be packed.
Die-cut boxes are made (cut) from one sheet of corrugated cardboard and bonded with glue, or stitched with metal staples along the side flap. The die-cut box has four top and four bottom flaps, which serve as the bottom and lid of the box.
Telescopic type boxes are composed, assembled out of two or more parts and are boxes with a lid. The base is a lower box-tray with a bottom, and a lid is put on the base and completely or partially overlaps it.
Wrapping type boxes are folded from one sheet of corrugated cardboard. Their blanks have a shape that allows assembly without the use of auxiliary materials (glue, tape, staples). Two or all of the walls and the lid are designed in such a way that they are a continuation of the bottom.
Pads 0900-0903. Inserters 0904-0929. Shell rings 0930-0934
(Interior fitments of a box), such as pads, partitions, inserters, shell rings, etc., are either tied to the structure of the box, or are separate elements. Any specified number of walls is not final, but can be reduced / increased if required.
PRODUCTION
Cardboard Factory
The cardboard factory was commissioned in December 1986. Today, it produces liner for corrugated cardboard with density range from 125 till 250 g/m² with bleached and unbleached pulp coating, as well as recycled liner with natural fiber color and fluting with density range from 80 till 250 g/m² with natural fiber color.
The main raw materials for the manufacture of corrugated cardboard are liner (cardboard for flat plies) and fluting (corrugated paper, which is used in the production of container products as an inner ply of corrugated cardboard). Paper Mill produces annually more than 10 thousand tons of cardboard with white top coating for its own printing production, more than 87 thousand tons of liner and about 69 thousand tons of fluting.
The first link in the process chain of the cardboard factory is the warehouse of waste paper and pulp. From here, the raw materials are delivered to the pulping department, and then in the form of paper pulp to the stock preparation department and to the board machine. The multi-stage process of cleaning and screening paper pulp allows to get high-quality and environmentally friendly cardboard and paper that meet all standards and hygiene certificates.
The chemical department of the factory prepares chemicals not only for cardboard production. It also provides other departments with the necessary reagents: sewage treatment plants, paper factory and corrugated packaging factory. At the cardboard production, there is a flow to provide the waste paper stock to the paper factory.
The specialists of the plant have done a lot of work to improve the paper machine (PM) produced by Izhevsk PO "Izhtyazhbummash". Initially, the machine was intended only for the production of ordinary container cardboard, but then the specialists of the plant mastered the production of paper for fluting. Currently, the technical capabilities of PM allow us to produce paper with density up to 80 g/sq. m.
The process regulations for the production of liner for corrugated cardboard of the K-2 and K-3 grades for Paper Mill cardboard factory were developed and implemented in 1985 by the Astrakhan VNIIB VNPObumprom. Since that time, the process service of the plant has done a lot of work to improve this regulation, introduce modern technologies, which allowed increasing production volumes and developing the production mode of cardboard of K-0 and K-1 grades.
New technologies for sizing paper and cardboard, cooking starch glue were mastered, the flows of the stock preparation department were modernized to improve cleaning and screening of waste paper, automated control systems for technological processes of the factory were introduced.
In 2014, the modernization of waste paper pulping and screening department was completed. Automated schemes of coarse and fine cleaning and screening of waste paper are complemented with modern equipment from Voith and GL&V.
In 2014, the cardboard factory modernized the forming and press sections of the paper machine. This is the largest investment project in the history of the plant. The work on dismantling, installation and commissioning of the PM was completed in a record short time – 45 days.
The supplier of the main equipment was the company "Andritz" (Austria). ZAO "Bum Techno" (Saint Petersburg) acted as the design organization and general contractor for the construction and installation works.
After the modernization, the speed of the paper machine increased from 470 m/min to 600 m/min, the volume of cardboard and paper production increased by 20%. After the modernization, the system of regulating the cross profile of cardboard was also improved to increase its quality. All newly delivered PM parts are designed for the speed of 800 m/min for further step-by-step modernization of the machine.
Running with the new speed range will allow the cardboard factory to pass the milestone of 1,1 billion square meters per year for the production of cardboard and paper.
Tissue Factory
The tissue factory was put into operation in 1988 with a design capacity of 40 thousand tons per year for base paper, 225 million pieces per year for toilet paper rolls.
In 2014, the production was more than 63 thousand tons for base paper, more than 386 million pieces per year for toilet paper rolls.
The tissue factory includes the following sections:
–stock preparation department, where paper pulp is prepared
– tissue machine BP-83, producing base paper;
– section of storing base paper rolls;
– processing plant of base paper, which produces toilet paper rolls on the core and without core, 1-ply and multi-ply (GOST R 52354-05 STO 04777004-006-2015), paper towels for household and sanitary purposes, 1-ply and multi-ply (TU 5471-9029-04777004-2013 STO 04777004-008-2015);
– section for printing on a paper cover for rolls without cores;
–finished products warehouse.
Production and shipment of finished products takes place 24 hours a day.
The technological process of preparing recycled pulp takes place in two stages:
- pulping, coarse cleaning, coarse screening (carried out in the stock preparation department of the cardboard factory);
- cleaning, fine screening, combined cleaning, washing and thickening, dispersion (carried out in the stock preparation department of the paper factory).
The preparation of recycled pulp in the stock preparation department includes the following stages. Cleaning of recycled pulp from sand is carried out on the equipment "Ecomizer" (Voith company, Austria), fine screening – on the equipment "Celleco Screen" (GL&V company, Sweden). Combined pulp cleaning takes place in conical vortex cleaners "Cleanpac 700LD" (GL&V company, Sweden).
Thickening and deashing of the paper pulp is carried out on paper pulp washers AL 200 (Comer company, Italy). The production of the base paper takes place on the BP-83 tissue machine (Voith company) with a cut-off width of the paper web on a roll of 4360 mm and a working speed of 1200 m/min.
The tissue machine is equipped with a two-wire forming device "Duoformer T". As part of the press section there is a shoe press "ViscoNip "(Metso company, Sweden). Paper drying is carried out on a drying cylinder with a diameter of 6000 mm. To ensure high-temperature convective heat exchange, a high-speed drying hood (made by Metso) is installed above the Yankee cylinder.
Naberezhnye Chelny paper is an environmentally friendly product. The paper pulp is sterilized at a temperature of 450° C. The paper is formed in a neutral environment without harmful additives. The cycle of water preparation and use in production is arranged so that the discharge of wastewater is minimized.
The production of toilet paper rolls, paper towels for technical and sanitary-hygienic purposes is carried out in the processing shop of the tissue factory.
On the equipment of the company "Sumitomo" (Japan), toilet paper is produced without the core (the length of the paper in the roll is 53 ±5% m, the width of the roll is 92 ±2 mm, 1-ply, without perforation, crepe, with a natural fiber color).
On the equipment of the company "Fabio Perini" (Italy), toilet paper is produced with a core, single-ply, with perforation, embossed, crepe, with a natural fiber color. The modernization of this line, successfully carried out in 2015, allowed us to start up a line of two-ply products – toilet paper and towels of the "Eco-Family" series.
In 2014, the installation of the equipment was completed at the tissue factory, which was carried out jointly with the specialists of the company "РСМС" (Italy). Thanks to the start up of a new machine, toilet paper for dispensers and industrial towels appeared in the assortment of Paper Mill. These products are intended primarily for public places: shopping centers, cafes, restaurants, airports, and so on.
On the equipment of the PCMC company, toilet paper is produced on the core: the length of the paper in the roll is 200 m, the width of the roll is 90 mm, on the core, one-ply, without embossing, without perforation, crepe, with a natural fiber color;
At the end of 2014, the factory completed the modernization of the paper machine - a paper-base cut on a reel with an automatic transport system for feeding rolls to an intermediate warehouse. The project for the reconstruction of the tissue machine was implemented jointly with the company "HST" (Italy).
After the modernization, the speed of the tissue machine increased to 1200 m/min., the productivity of the tissue machine increased by 7%.
Сorrugated Board Factory
The first corrugated board at the corrugated board factory was received on December 21, 1986. At that time, Paper Mill produced it from imported raw materials. Soon KBK cardboard factory began to provide the corrugated board factory with its products: liner and fluting.
KBK is the largest manufacturer of corrugated cardboard and corrugated packaging in Russia. It accounts for 7% of the market of all corrugated products that are made in the Russian Federation.
Paper Mill was the first one in Russia to master the production of triple wall corrugated board and to apply offset printing on micro-corrugated board of F flute. KBK also became a pioneer in the manufacture of manually erected trays and pallets from corrugated board, which are popular today.
Today, corrugated board factory is a modern, fully automated and mechanized production. Changeover from one format to another is carried out in a few seconds. Cut to size sheets from the corrugators of the company "BHS" (Germany) are delivered to the automatic printing and die-cutting lines of the companies "Martin" (France), "Bobst" (Switzerland), "Rapidbox" (France). There are 13 of them at the corrugated board factory, which allows us to simultaneously produce several modifications of corrugated packaging of various sizes and design complexity. Each line is equipped with flexo printing machines.
Initially, both domestic and imported equipment was installed at the factory. The LGKP-1 corrugators, which were experimentally developed in PO Petrozavodskbummash, were installed. On foreign equipment - automatic lines of the world-famous company "Martin" - cardboard was processed into boxes.
Over time, Paper Mill completely abandoned domestic machines, replacing them with European equipment, expanded the park of printing and die-cutting lines from 8 to 13 and purchased two machines for the production of components "Roda-Andax" and "Mac-Combi 1400".
The first corrugator of the company "BHS" was installed at the corrugated board factory in 2000, which allowed to increase the volume of production of corrugated packaging, while reducing the cost price.
In 2002, the German company "BHS" presented statistics to the general public, according to which Naberezhnye Chelny Paper Mill was recognized as the leader in terms of output of one corrugator among all buyers of BHS corrugated machines in the world! The record figure was 171 412 300 square meters of corrugated cardboard.
In 2003, KBK acquired the second BHS corrugator. After equipping it with additional single facers, the production of seven-ply corrugated cardboard was started. For the first time in Russia, on January 21, 2004, it was at Naberezhnye Chelny Paper Mill that the first seven-ply corrugated cardboard was obtained.
In 2004, the production of micro-corrugated cardboard of F flute has begun at corrugated board factory. The ability to apply offset printing with varnishing directly on the micro-corrugated cardboard of F flute, bypassing the laminating stage, allowed Paper Mill to reduce the cost of products in comparison with the laminated packaging.
In 2005, Bobst company's SPO-160 flatbed die-cutting line was put into operation at the factory and new packaging equipment was installed. High productivity, fast changeover, accurate positioning of sheets - these are the main characteristics of this line. In 2005, the FFG 618 process line of the French company "Martin" designed for the production of corrugated boxes with small dimensions was started up.
In 2007, the SPO-160 line was retrofitted with three printing sections. In the same year, a folding-gluing machine of Bobst company (Switzerland) Pacific 2.3 was installed, which made it possible to glue corrugated boxes with one, three and four gluing points.
In 2007, a line for the production of large-sized corrugated products "Rapidbox" by the French company "Rapidex" equipped with two printing sections was put into operation.
In 2008, a high-performance rotary die-cutting DRO-NT line was installed by the French company "Martin".
In 2012, the flatbed die-cutting line "Masterline 2.1" of the company "Bobst" equipped with two printing sections was put into operation.
During 2013-2014, the transport system was replaced at the corrugated board factory, starting from the corrugators and up to the receiving roll tables of production lines. This system, which includes four automatic transport trolleys and conveyors, was supplied by Minda (Germany). The work carried out made it possible to accelerate the movement of blanks from corrugated machines to production lines, reduce the number of maintenance personnel, which ultimately affected the growth of labor productivity.
About 140 million rubles are provided annually for the modernization of corrugated board factory.
